Rhema Word Deliverance Ministries

OUR HISTORY

 

Though Rhema Word Deliverance Ministries began as an outreach in 2001, the formal, physical church was first planted in Baltimore City in 2005 when Dr. Yarborough retired from military service.  Since that time, the ministry has grown in a very non-traditional manor due to Dr. Yarborough's unique vision. 

 

Rhema Word has participated extensively in community outreach, social activism programs, community revitilization, public education, and multi-denominational church fellowship.  Dr. Yarborough does not have a four walls type of vision.  His vision is also not one of contributing to denominational division, but one of unity in Christ through being born again.

 

Rhema Word has since grown to host an annual retreat which began in 2010.  The church has also hosted tent revivals, fashion shows, barbeques, etc.  In 2013, Rhema Word Deliverance Ministries came under the covering and fellowship of Holy Temple, Holy Church of Deliverance East, and it's leaders Bishop and Overseer Shelley.  This partnership blossomed into a fruitful work benefitting both ministries with a multi-denominatioal fellowship organization (of which Dr. Yarborough is vice president), a youth group, and a bible college. 

 

Rhema Word is not just a ministry for the ordinary church member, but Dr. Yarborugh is also the founder and dean of Biynah (Hebrew for "understanding") Ministeral Leadership Academy founded in 2011.  Biynah is specifically designed for training and equiping the next generation of church leaders.
